Questions about Your Appointment

 Government Issued ID - you must bring at least 1 of the following:​


  • Original valid passport (preferred) or a copy certified by a Canadian Visa Office
  • National ID Card
  • Canadian Driver’s license
  • Refugee Protection Claimant Document


If you have one of the following, please bring along with the above document to your appointment:


  • Acknowledgement of Refugee Claim and Notice to Return for Interview,  IMM 5985 letter, along with passport
  •  IMM 1017 letter, along with passport

  

All costs for refugee claimants are covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).


In addition to your passport/ government ID, if available, please bring the following:


  • All prescriptions in their bottles
  • Any previous medical reports from significant illnesses
  • Method of payment: credit, debit or cash


IMPORTANT: No fasting is required for the blood work.


Who needs blood work?

Blood work and a urine test is required for any applicant 15 years and older.


How much does it cost?

$88.00 CAD (credit or debit) per person.


Do I need an appointment? It is best to book an appointment in advance. 

Ask for an appointment with LifeLabs for 45 minutes after your medical exam time.  If there are no appointments, do not worry, they always have walk in spots.

Life Labs is at 791 Princess Street unit 102. 


These tests should be completed as soon as possible after your medical exam. They cannot be done before your medical examination. 


Directions


Life Labs is on the first floor at 791 Princess Street. Go ut the front of our building and go three doors to your left. There is a large blue awning with 791 marked on it. Enter the building and go through the first two doors to the last door on your left and that is Life Labs. 


Hours: Monday to Friday: 7 am - 4 pm.



Who needs a chest X-ray?

A chest x-ray is required for any applicant 11 years and older.  


How much does it cost?

$80.00 CAD per person by cash only.


Do I need an appointment? 

No.


Where are x-rays done?


After your exam you will be referred for a chest x-ray in our building at Kingston Imaging Services ($80.00 cash only) at Unit 422, 797 Princess Street. Take the elevator to floor 4. 


Hours: Monday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm.




Questions about IRCC Immigration Medical Exam Requirements

Yes.


You may still complete the exam. Dr. Langley will discuss the risks and benefits of completing or not completing a chest x-ray during pregnancy. If you do not wish to complete an x-ray, you can complete all other parts of the exam and have the x-ray after the birth.


Chest X-rays are needed for any applicant 11 years and older.

Blood work is needed for any applicant 15 years and older.
